If you live a long way from Sydney, or you are not sure whether surgery is the right step yet, you can send photographs to Dr Kumar’s nursing team before making the trip. The nurses review them with Dr Kumar and call you back to talk through whether a consultation is worthwhile, which procedure is likely to be discussed, and what to organise before you come.
This is not limited to patients after weight loss. Anyone considering a procedure is welcome to use it.
Why patients use this
- You live in regional NSW or interstate and want to avoid a long trip for something minor.
- You would rather know in advance whether an operation is likely to be recommended.
- You want Dr Kumar’s team prepared before your first appointment, so the consultation is spent on your questions rather than on the basics.
How to take the photographs
- Front, both sides and back of the area you are concerned about.
- Plain background, good natural light, no filters.
- Underwear or fitted clothing, arms relaxed at your sides.
- Stand about two metres from the camera so the whole area is in frame.
What happens next
A nurse from Dr Kumar’s team will contact you, usually within two business days. They will talk through what you have sent, the GP referral you will need, what the first consultation involves and what it costs. A referral from your GP is required to see Dr Kumar.
Photographs cannot substitute for an examination. Nothing sent here is a diagnosis, a recommendation for surgery or a quote. Individual results vary, and every procedure carries risks. Read more about the risks of surgery here.
How your photographs are handled
- They are sent straight to Dr Kumar’s practice by email.
- They are not stored on this website. Files are removed from the server as soon as the email is sent.
- They are never published, shown in the gallery or used in advertising.
- They are seen only by Dr Kumar and his clinical team.
