Dr Kumar is also performs body contouring after pregnancy (sometimes called a “mummy makeover” ) and in procedures such as Breast Augmentation, Breast Reduction, Breast Lifts ( with or without implants) and Abdominoplasty ( “Tummy Tuck” ) and Liposuction.
Training and Qualifications
Dr Rohit Kumar is an Australian trained and fully certified specialist plastic and reconstructive surgeon. Dr Kumar completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree in 1995 at the University of Queensland. He subsequently went on to complete a Masters Degree in the field of Burns Surgery in 2004 – MMedSci (Burns)
He commenced his advanced training initially in General Surgery in 2001 and then followed this with advanced training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. The Australasian training scheme in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery is one of the most thorough and rigorous in the world and upon successful completion of this training, over a period of ten years, Dr Kumar was awarded his Fellowship in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery – FRACS (Plas).
He thus brings 20 years of surgical experience to his practice having been involved in over fifteen thousand procedures in that time.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons and a member of the Australasian Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons.

Teaching and Publications
Dr Kumar is appointed as a VMO at Nepean Public Hospital. This is a major teaching hospital in Sydney, and Dr Kumar is responsible for training young plastic surgeons, as well as providing plastic surgery services for this major hospital in Western Sydney. He is the current supervisor of resident training for the plastic surgical department.
As part of his teaching, Dr Kumar has also been an Associate Clinical Fellow in Anatomy at the University of Technology Sydney and Notre Dame University and is an instructor for the Emergency Management of Severe Burns (EMSB) courses in Australasia. He held the position of the inaugural Queensland Fire and Rescue Authority Burns Fellow at the Children’s Hospital in Brisbane for two years. He has also been a Visiting Fellow to the Shriners Burns Hospital in Dallas Texas as well as the Intermountain Burns Hospital in Salt Lake City.
With extensive research experience, Dr Kumar is extremely well published and is a highly sought after speaker at national and international conferences. He has been on expert panels for the Queensland Government and has been requested by various media sources to give his opinion on a variety of subjects from the latest in plastic surgery trends through to correcting poorly performed surgery by non plastic surgeons. He is part of the Expert Advisory Board on cosmetic surgery for Vogue magazine and featured on their expert panel for Breast and Body surgery.
Dr Kumar was an invited speaker at the Breast Masters Symposium held in Sydney in 2018. This was the largest conference of national and international leaders focusing specifically on plastic surgery of the breast in Australia’s history

Dr Kumar has also been awarded the “Teaching Registrar of the Year” at St Vincent’s Hospital and his practice team have been awarded for “Outstanding Customer Service” in 2018.
