Body contouring after major weight loss
Surgery to remove excess skin after significant weight loss, whether from bariatric surgery, weight-loss medication, or diet and exercise. Removal of excess abdominal skin, with repair of separated abdominal muscles where indicated. Standard, extended and fleur-de-lis techniques are used depending on the pattern of excess skin. Medicare eligibility is assessed individually.
Circumferential removal of excess skin from the abdomen, hips, flanks and outer thighs after major weight loss.
Removal of excess skin from the upper arm, most commonly after significant weight loss.
Removal of excess skin from the inner or outer thigh after weight loss.
Breast surgery
Reduction of breast size with reshaping and lift of the remaining tissue. Performed for symptomatic and aesthetic reasons. Where clinical criteria are met a Medicare item number may apply; eligibility is assessed at consultation.
Lifting and reshaping of the breast without implants. Commonly considered after weight loss, pregnancy or breastfeeding.
A breast lift combined with implants, where both shape and volume need to be addressed.
Breast enlargement using implants. Implant type, size and placement are discussed at consultation, along with the risks and the need for long-term follow-up.
Breast implant removal or revision
Exchange or removal of existing implants, with or without a lift, including assessment of implant-related concerns.
Surgery to address a difference in size, shape or position between the breasts.
Correction of tuberous or constricted breast shape, usually combining reshaping of the breast tissue with implants or fat grafting.
Reduction or repositioning of the nipple and areola, including inverted nipple correction.
Transfer of the patient’s own fat to add volume or improve contour, used alone or alongside other breast surgery.
Male breast reduction (gynaecomastia)
Removal of excess breast tissue and skin from the male chest, including after significant weight loss.

Liposuction and post-pregnancy surgery
Removal of localised fat deposits, used on its own or alongside skin-removal surgery. Liposuction is not a weight-loss treatment.
Post-pregnancy abdomen and breast surgery
Abdominal and breast surgery after pregnancy and breastfeeding, sometimes called a mummy makeover. Procedures are planned individually and are often staged.
Reconstructive surgery
Skin cancer excision and reconstruction
Surgical removal of skin cancers with reconstruction of the resulting defect, including local flaps and skin grafts. Performed under Medicare where criteria are met.
Scar revision
Surgical revision of scars following previous surgery, injury or burns.
