How these photos are taken
Dr Kumar’s team photographs each patient before surgery and again at follow-up visits, against the same plain background, with the same lighting, distance and pose, so the before and after photos can be compared fairly. Photos are taken on practice equipment and stored in the clinical record, not on personal phones. Where it has been recorded, each case shows how long after surgery the “after” photo was taken.
Arm lift (brachioplasty) before and after: common questions
When will I see the final result of an arm lift?
Swelling settles over the first few months. Scars are usually pink or red at first and keep fading and flattening for 12 to 18 months, which is why Dr Kumar’s team aims to photograph these cases at 12 months.
Will my result look like these?
Every patient is different. Skin quality, body shape, weight stability, general health and how you heal all affect the result. At your consultation Dr Kumar examines you, explains what is realistic in your case and talks you through the risks.
Why are some parts of the photos blurred or cropped?
To protect patients’ privacy. Faces, tattoos, jewellery and other features that could identify someone are cropped or blurred. Nothing about the surgical result is changed.
Can I send my own photos before booking?
Yes. You can send photos through the Send photos page and Dr Kumar’s team will be in touch about the next step. A GP referral is needed to see Dr Kumar.
